Winner of the Human Being Award 2012 – Oswaldo Checchia 2012, in the category of Academic Paper, Professor Maria Isabel Barreto, of the Social Communication Department, has had a hectic year, but full of victories. Those who see her passing by the Pilotis did not imagine how much she devoted herself to the project “Human Skills to Sustainability”, which led her to the first place of the competition promoted by the Human Resources Brazilian Association (National – ABHR).
With a degree in Advertising from PUC-Rio and postgraduate in Marketing from IAG, the professor raced against time to complete the work. Throughout the available time, Isabel read the biography, prepared the abstracts and produced the text. “It was me and the computer, the computer and I. I became a little antisocial”, confessed.
The project was developed by Isabel for the completion of the MBA in Human Resources Management of IAG. “Human Skills for Sustainability” aims to modify the idea of sustainability only linked to the environment to something related to the man. “Since you can’t take by the ecology, I thought: I’m for the people, let’s go to HR, I want to take it to the organizations”, said Isabel.
The teacher said that it was surprised by the award. “When I went up on stage, I thought my heart was going to explode, it seemed like a samba school”, said the professor about the feeling she had when receiving the prize. For Isabel, all this goes beyond the first place, it is the recognition of 20 years of an idealization that materialised.
